So prepare to get the most out of this practice with this post and 15 amazing gratitude prompts.

A gratitude journal or gratitude log if you’re planning to add it to your Bullet Journal is a very simple practice of daily writing down small good things in your life.

It sounds pretty simple and really takes just a few minutes a day to do it, but the effects really are so significant.

Writing daily gratitudes will help you to see the world in a better light, to notice and appreciate more amazing people around you.

It’s a great tool to improve your mental health, your relationships, your self-esteem.

Daily gratitude will help you to become a happier, more mindful, and present person.

Here I’ve gathered 15 simple but effective prompts that can help you get started with your gratitude journal

15 Gratitude Journal Prompts

I’ve been doing daily gratitude for a very long time already, but it took me a while to figure it out.

So below are some prompts that will help you get started and find your own way to do your daily gratitude.

Happy Memory Of The Day

What was something that made you happy today, what made you smile? Why did I make you feel that way? No matter how small, think about it.

Learning to find happiness in small things will make you appreciate each day more and more.

Something You’re Grateful For That You Didn’t Have Last Year

This of something amazing you have in your life now that you didn’t have before. What is it? What did you do to make it happen? How does it make you feel?

We often get so carried away with our day to day things that we stop noticing how much we achieve and how our lives improve

Take a minute to reflect on that and give yourself a pat for making it happen.

Your Favorite Person

Think about your favorite person in the world. Why do you feel that way? What are some qualities you like in them?

This simple exercise will help remind you of the amazing people that surround you and be more mindful and appreciative of your relationships.

Old Photos

We tend to take a lot of pictures, especially in important and meaningful moments. But how often do we actually look back?

Probably not that much.

So open your phone, scroll through your photo albums, and find one picture. Write down why this was important, why was this moment special, how did it make you feel? Why are you grateful for this photo?

Act Of Kindness From Another

Sit and think of an act of kindness somebody did for you. It can be a family member or a friend, but it also might be just a random stranger on the subway

And don’t just think of anything huge, something simple like giving you a smile or allowing you to pass before them.

It’s these small moments that bring little sparks of joy and that are usually very fast forgotten. Keep them in mind in your daily gratitudes, or even better – try to do random acts of kindness yourself.

Your Favorite Song

I always thought that music has such a unique influence on us. If I hear a song I know it usually takes me back into the time I was listening to it all the time.

Honestly, music is the best time machine you can get! That’s why usually when something important happens or I travel I try to listen to certain music.

That way in the future just but listening to this song again I can relive my important moments.

So for gratitude – think of your favorite song. Why do you like it so much? How does it make you feel? What does it make you think about?

Something That Cheers You Up

This is already an amazing Bullet Journal page idea, but it’s also a great prompt for your gratitude log.

Think about something that makes you feel happy when you’re down. Something that helps to keep these blues away.

And then simply write it down! Just by writing it down, you’ll start feeling just a tiny bit happier.

Plus this can be a good entry to reference when you actually do feel sad and need a little pick me up.

3 Things You’re Grateful For Today

Pretty simple – write down 3 things that you’re grateful for today.

This really can be anything, from sunny weather to that delicious cupcake you had for a coffee break. Doesn’t matter how small.

The important idea here is to train yourself to see these little things every day, and eventually, you’ll see your attitude and your appreciation for everyday change.

For bonus points try to write more – 5 or maybe even 6 things.

Teacher / Mentor You’re Grateful For

However old you are chances are there is a teacher or a mentor in your life that helps you shape what your life is and will be in the future.

This about this amazing person. How did he/she help you? What are some things you were able to achieve thanks to them? What is something that made you think of or consider?

Your Favorite Tradition

Our lives are full of traditions and among those, I bet there are a few that you enjoy the most.

Think about that – what are some of the traditions you are most grateful for? Why and how do they make you feel? How did they help you become the person you are now?

This makes me think of our new year tradition to rewatch all the amazing movies during the holiday season.

It’s an amazing tradition that united my family more, helped us have some jolly good time and also helped me to fall in love with cinema.

Your Favorite Hobby

Write about your favorite hobby. Why do you like it? What does it help you with? How does it make you feel?

When it comes to my hobby I, of course, start to think about Bullet Journaling, how much it helped me express myself, and the amazing people I met through the community.

This makes you grateful for having a hobby and realize how much your life actually improved with this little hobby in it.

What Is Your Biggest Accomplishment

Appreciating yourself and your efforts are very important and yet we don’t really do it that often. It often feels like it’s not enough. Or is it just me?

Anyways, acknowledging your victories however small will make you feel better about yourself, more accomplished, and motivated to conquer.

This of what are some of your small victories, how hard did you work for it? How did it make you feel when you made it happen?

Your Best Life Experience

Think of something amazing that you got to experience in your life. What was it? How did it make you feel? Why are you grateful for having this experience in your life?

I also like writing about my bad life experiences and how they helped me to become the person I am. It’s a bit more difficult task but eventually, I learned to be grateful even for bad things, because in one way or another they helped me to be better.

10 Things I Like About Myself

First of all, this is a cool prompt that you can actually use it for ten days, talking about one thing per day.

But here is the prompt – think of something you love about yourself. How did they help you in life? Why are you grateful to have these characteristics?

What Possessions Make Your Life Better

Time to think about actual things. Sit down and think of stuff that makes your life better.

It can be anything, from your coffee machine to that bag that basically has a black whole inside and can fit anything.

Just take some time to appreciate these little things and how much they help you have a better everyday life.

Somethings Good In The Community

Think of something good that happened in the community lately. Maybe they finished renovating the playground. Maybe there is a new volunteer program.

This of all the little good things that happen within your community. For extra effort – try volunteering or helping out.
