Hello Planning Mashers!
Today we will be talking about probably my favorite page to create in my Bullet Journal – an “About Me” page.
I find it bringing me a lot of value (and fun of course) so I thought it’s time to share all these experiences with you as well.
Hopefully, by the end of this post, I’ll have you convinced you need this page and inspired to start creating right away.

An “About Me” page is actually something I do pretty often and have at the beginning of every journal.
But the question is – what is this page and why should you try it in your journal?
Let’s dive straight into it!
Oh and one more thing – I have a printable “About Me” page for you in the Resources Vault, so be sure to scroll down for more details and ways to get it.
What Is An “About Me” Page
This is a trend that appeared quite a while ago and I believe Nicole from @plansthatblossom was the first one who brought this page to the Bullet Journal community.
An “About Me” page is like a blueprint of who you are at the moment of creating it. It’s like a photo, but it represents more than just a crazy hair phase you’re going through at the moment. Believe me, I went through both of those and, yeah, not the same thing at all.
It’s in many ways a memory-keeping page, only instead of keeping a memory of some events, it’s a memory of who you are as a person at that moment.
The cool thing about this page, just like about all things Bullet Journal, is that it’s totally up to you how you do it. You can be very serious about it, or can just create a silly fun page with your current favorite movies, songs, and desserts.
What To Include In Your “About Me” Page
Just like I mentioned before, this is totally up to you.
Sometimes I just add random facts about myself, other times I go serious and want to add things like my achievements or new good habits.
Of course, I’ll give you here a few ideas.
This can be a fun place to write some general facts about yourself. I like starting here because it’s easy to fill out and it’s a great warm-up to get into the mood.
- Personality type
- Relationship status
- Place of residence
This is the one I find the most fun to see on other creator’s pages but the most difficult to write about myself.
It’s my life and I don’t really see that many random things being interesting to people. But then I remember it’s my page so really – it can be anything!
For me, I usually include how I lived in China (and then in Bolivia) and how much I love dogs. But here are a few more ideas:
- What’s your favorite dessert?
- Where do you usually journal?
- What’s your must-have wardrobe item?
- Do you have any tattoos?
- What’s something you’re very proud of?
- What’s your favorite thing to do to relax?
Likes / Dislikes
This one is pretty easy – just think of some things you really enjoy and some things that drive you crazy.
Here are some examples you can add to your “likes” section:
- Movies and tv shows
- Ways to spend the day
I don’t have a list like that for dislikes since it’s a bit more personal. But I bet you can think of something even without my help.
Hobbies and Interests
Even if you just have one hobby it can be sure fun to write some fun facts about it.
For example, I love including for how long I’ve been Bullet Journaling, what are some of my favorite pens and how I ended up starting to begin with.
Dreams And Achievements
It’s always great to put your dreams to the paper. If not to make them happen, then to just look at them in the future and remember how simple life was back then.
I remember the times when all I could dream of is a Nokia 3310 (kudos if you know what it was!) so I can send SMS to my friends and play the snake game. Oh, simple times and that wonderful innocent Masha.
But of course, putting your dreams to the paper kind of turns them into goals as well and subconsciously you’ll start seeing more ways to make them happen.
Putting your achievements and patting yourself at your back for making it happen is always a wonderful thing, knowing how often we put our victories aside and think more of the things we haven’t done yet.
So yeah, both of these are a great addition to your “About Me” page.
You probably know I’m kind of a crazy person when it comes to using a gratitude log – I find it a powerful and motivational tool, even though I still skip some days because life happens. And by life, I mean Bruce.
So I thought it might be fun to add some gratitudes to your “About Me” page as well. This won’t only remind you again of some amazing things in your life but will help you to always remember them and to kind of build a better picture of where you were at this point of your life.
Ok, now we are definitely getting to a more self-improvement kind of area.
You might see I use my “About Me” page often to see where I am in my personal development, so then in a year’s time when I sit down to do yet another “About Me” page, I can look back and see how far I’ve come.
The thing I like to add is my habits. Habits are the small things that end up shaping our life so when I manage to develop some good habits and get rid of negative ones – it’s really a big deal.
That’s why in my “About Me” page I also love adding some good habits I established and some I’ll be working on.
All these are just some of my ideas. The best part about this page is that it’s up to you what exactly you’ll be adding there, so feel free to disregard all of this and come up with some absolutely different ideas.
Why Have An “About Me” Page
Ok time to answer the big one – why would you actually take the time to set this page up?
The obvious reason is that it’s fun! It’s something to keep you occupied and creative. But there is more!
Creating an “About Me” page often helps me to kind of figure out better where exactly I am at this stage of my life and what are some things I’d like to change.
When you sit down to do it you start thinking about all the things you want to include, it becomes a bit of a self-reflection exercise.
This page is also a physical screenshot of your life and who you are at this moment. You’ll be able to always look back and see yourself.
I’ve been doing my “About Me” pages for a while now and it’s always so interesting to see how different I was, even if I create the page every year.
An “About Me” page is also a great opportunity to take a moment and recognize and appreciate all the wonderful things you have in your life at the moment.
I feel like when you create this page you automatically try to think of the good things and sometimes you end up seeing things you wouldn’t otherwise. This is always a powerful and positive reason to pick up your pen and create this page.
Finally, this is a great way to preserve your memories. It’s crazy how much you forget about your own life in time, but an “About Me” page will stay there with you ready to remind you of wonderful moments and people you had in your life at that moment.
Ok, I hope with all of this I convinced you to give it a try, so let’s take a look at several “About Me” pages and how to create one.
How To Create An “About Me” Page
Here is the thing – there is no one way to create them, it’s individual and you can create the page in any way you want.
Use doodles, stickers, and washi, or maybe do watercolor or go completely minimal and just use a black pen – it’s all up to you.
Instead, I’ll share with you some tips. Here are some of the things I do when creating my “About Me” pages:
- Think of categories and information to include first
I always kind of start from a little list of things I want to include on my page. Since I’m using them to mostly monitor my growth, I try to pick things I’ll be able to look back at and see the change I made.
So I add some habits I want to break, some of my Masha Plans statistics, some of my achievements, and a little section with things I think I should start working on, like calling my family more often.
- Start with a pencil sketch
This is something I do with all my pages – I always sketch them with a pencil first.
This helps to avoid mistakes, to make everything fit and look centered. It’s really my saving grace and I can’t recommend this enough!
The most important part if you ask me is to have fun! Don’t overthink or overcomplicate things, just go with what your creativity tells you and have fun with it.
About Me Page Inspirations
Finally, I wanted to share with you inspirations for an “About Me” page from other creators.
It’s a very unique and personal page but I think seeing these can give you tons of creative ideas on some things you might want to try in your journal.
I love this page and the illustration in the middle. I always find it so fun when the creator makes a little animated portrait of themselves.
Must give her a lot of respect for being recovering sugar addict – I think I’ll never recover from my extreme love of all things sugar.
Love the colors on this page, Crayolas really are so pretty! I actually just got a 100 pack myself and can’t wait to start using them.
But back to the page – it looks great and I love that she added a section for her favorite drink. SUch a cute and fun little detail.
Barbara has a very unique style and you can see it on all her pages, including this one.
I love that she added a little quote to kind of symbolize what she stands for.
I love this completely new ap[approach to an “About Me” page – just 20 facts about me.
I also like the cute doodles around each fact, especially the sweet pup!
I love that this one includes favorite clothes and a general look. It’s always fun to put some kind of a face behind the creator.
Now that I read that she has a few tattoos I just need to know what they are! I have a lot myself actually and I’m always interested to see what other people get and what it means to them.
Love this page and the black and gold aesthetics. Looks just so fancy!
Another thing I like is that she added several photos to highlight her style and fashion.
Hayley always rocks her blackout journal and this page is no exception.
All she used is a white gel pen and yet it looks so amazing. One more proof – all you need is just a pen and a notebook.
I love this page and I find a lot of value in creating it, so I wanted to leave you with something before you go.
This is an “About Me” page with some more popular areas to include in it.
You can get this page in the “Other Pages” section of our Resources Vault, along with tons of other printables.
